Guide for Viewing & Updating Account Details on GameSafe
Overview:
Through the Account Details tab, you can view and update certain information linked to your GameSafe account. Some fields, such as the email address, cannot be edited, while others like phone number, gender, zip code, location, and timezone can be updated. Here’s how to access and manage these details on the web, iOS, and Android, along with potential issues you may face and how to resolve them.
Steps:
1. Login to GameSafe:
Open the GameSafe Parent Dashboard in your web browser.
Enter your credentials to log in.
2. Navigate to Settings:
Once logged in, locate and click on the "Settings" tab in the sidebar or top menu.
3. Access Account Details:
In the settings menu, click on "Account Details."
This screen displays the following fields:
Email Address (non-editable)
Phone Number (optional)
Gender (optional)
Zip Code (optional)
Location
Timezone
4. Update Phone Number (Optional):
If you haven’t added a phone number or wish to update it, click on the phone number field and enter your current phone number.
Potential Issue: If the phone number format is incorrect or incomplete, you will receive an error message.
Solution: Ensure the phone number includes the country code and is correctly formatted. For example, +1 for the US or +44 for the UK.
5. Select Gender (Optional):
If you wish to specify your gender, select it from the dropdown menu or leave it unspecified.
6. Update Zip Code (Optional):
Enter your zip code into the provided field.
Potential Issue: If the zip code is missing or entered incorrectly, you may receive a validation error.
Solution: Ensure the zip code is accurate for your country or region. Double-check the formatting (e.g., five digits for the US or alphanumeric format for the UK).
7. Set Location:
Enter or update your location in the field provided. This is typically used to give location-based recommendations or services.
Potential Issue: If your location input is rejected, it might be due to an unsupported region format.
Solution: Ensure you're entering a valid location format (e.g., city or city and country) and avoid abbreviations.
8. Update Timezone:
Choose your timezone from the dropdown menu.
Potential Issue: If you see a mismatch between your system timezone and the selected timezone, ensure your browser/device settings match the one you selected.
Solution: Verify your device settings and refresh the page if needed.
9. Save Changes:
Once all the information is updated, click the "Save" button to confirm the changes.
Potential Issue: If you’re unable to save the details, you might see an error message indicating missing or invalid data.
